Cucumber Pro will be available for beta testers in Q4 2013 and provides a collaborative environment that is designed for business analysts, product owners, testers and programmers. is a tool that lets software development teams describe how software should behave, in plain business-readable domain specific language - language that can be read by anyone!
While Cucumber can be thought of as a "testing" tool, the intent of the tool is to support Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) and Specification by Example. This means that the "tests" (plain text feature descriptions with scenarios) are typically written before anything else and verified by business analysts, domain experts and non technical stakeholders. The production code is then written outside-in, to make the stories pass.
Cucumber Pro works with Cucumber by adding additional features such as collaborative editing, very similar to (Google Docs). Documents can be opened and saved to several source control systems. It also stores historical reports. The goal is to bring the product owners into Cucumber and BDD.
Cucumber supports nearly a dozen programming languages - Ruby, JavaScript, C++, Lua and the most popular JVM languages.
