Tech Events Roundup October 14

This is a great week for folks in the social sphere. Use your social media mojo to improve people's offline lives with the Austin Twestival, spend a day networking with your fellow bloggers at BlogathonATX, and grab a real beer with your virtual friends at BASHH.

October 15, 6:30 p.m.

Dell Parmer South Campus - Building 2

Join us for Pizza and an open conversation on getting value out of social data. Whether that's monetary value, product development value, or customer service value, the analysis and information needs to translate into better outcomes. Bring your appetite and ideas as we explore the value of social data.

October 16, 4:30 p.m.

Austin Convention Center

500 East Cesar Chavez Street

This month we're teaming up and sponsoring part of Innotech's eMarketing Summit. We'll feature a session by Spike Jones titled, "Embracing and Empowering the Fans Who Love You the Most." The best advertising happens when other people sing your praises to their friends and family. And ambassador/advocacy programs are a great way to ignite excitement and conversation around your brand. They aren't loyalty programs and they aren't couponing programs. After all, an ambassador is a messenger of goodwill. In this engaging, humorous talk, we'll explore real life examples of what works and what doesn't.

October 20, 7:00 p.m.

Austin Technology Incubator

3925 West Braker Lane, #3

The idea of 3 Day Startup is simple: start a technology company over the course of three days. We rent work space for an entire weekend, invite 40 students from a wide range of disciplines, cater food and caffeine, select the strongest ideas for a software startup during the Friday brainstorming session, and release a minimal prototype by Sunday night. The goal is to build enough momentum among a network of motivated people to sustain the company beyond the weekend. This is an opportunity for you to see the caliber of our participants and what promises to be an impressive set of pitches and prototypes for new companies. We hope to share with you our vision of providing young entrepreneurs and students the opportunity to experience what its like to get their hands dirty working at a technology startup.
