Java Vulnerabilities in Applet Code

© ComputerMonger
Security holes in Java applet code are being exploited by online criminals, who are using these to distribute computer malware. Java malware has been on the rise since 2010, and it is being used to exploit Windows systems at an increasing rate.
To protect yourself, it's recommended that you do not disable automatic Java updates and always load all patches that are issued for Java. There has also been an increase in clickjacking, which is malware that tricks users into raising the rankings of infected sites on search engines and social networks. For example, the Trojan.JS.Clickjack.A generates "Likes" on primed sites, without the user noticing. This type of malware will continue to be an issue for social networks and search engines in this year. Trojan.Wimad.Gen.1 is the most serious malware threat at the moment. It is an audio file that is mainly distributed via P2P networks.
